Clean The Sensors And Clear The Obstructions
Garage door sensors detect objects in the way of the garage door opening and shutting. The sensors can quickly pick up clutter and determine that it is unsafe to operate the door.
The simplest solution is to ensure that nothing is blocking the passage between the two sensors. Also, wipe the lenses of your sensors with your microfiber cloth before pressing the garage door button to observe what occurs.
Do Both Garage Door Sensors Need To Be Green
Your garage door has sending and receiving sensors with LED lights that should glow steadily if there are no issues with the alignment. The lights on of these types of sensors will be green if there are no obstructions or misalignment. Some newer garage door models also have a sending sensor that has an amber light which should be on regardless of these issues. If the green lights dont work or start flashing, you will most likely need to realign the sensors.

The amber light on the sending sensor will glow regardless of alignment or obstruction. If the green light on the receiving sensor is off, dim, or flickering , alignment is required.
Note: On the older safety sensors both lights are green. The receiving sensors are the sensors that the green light goes out when you pass your hand in front of the sensors. The sending sensor stays solid.
Before you take off the photo eye try just adjusting it to make it see the other one by wiggling it into place if that does not work take the following steps.

What To Do If Garage Sensor Is Not Working
If your garage door sensor is not working, you can try to bypass it. There are a few different ways to do this, and each method will work a little differently depending on the make and model of your garage door opener.
In most cases, you will be able to find a small hole near the bottom of the garage door panel. This is where you will need to insert a wire hanger or other thin metal object to trip the sensor. If there is no hole, you may be able to pry open the panel slightly with a screwdriver or other tool to get inside.
Once you are inside, you will need to locate the sensor itself. This is typically a tiny black box mounted on the wall or ceiling. You can try to trip the sensor by waving an object in front of it or disconnect the wires and temporarily tape them together.
If all else fails, you may need to call a professional to help you bypass the sensor.

You will soon find the black cable in the new sensor. Then, you have to twist the black cable and attach it to the wire that you have cut down earlier. Repeat the same process with the white cable/wire.
Getting rid of garage door sensors is an easy and quick task to perform. After completing all these steps, secure the sensors in the brackets and tighten the wingnuts to hold them and secure them in place.
