Garage Door Opener Recommendation For 14×12 Garage Doors
Opener recommendation for 14×12 garage doors
Hot Rod Grampa said:If they are true roll up doors, they roll up into onto itself so a trolley would not work. For a sectional door that is standard lift or low headroom, Liftmaster makes an ATS model, a basic trolley with few frills but is considered light duty and has a low cycle rating. Step up to their medium duty units and you have a bulletproof trolley. MT -50 or if you have low headroom you will want the BMT-50 that has a built in brake to keep the door from creeping. Contact a local dealer for a better detailed list of options including voltages and controllers. Good luck.
I am not familiar with your area and how available that operator would be up there though. John

What instructions are you looking at because you can get up to a 14′ rail for that opener.John
Hot Rod Grampa said:First we measure doors width first. So if you have a 14′ high door the rails will be 17′ and some long. I retired 3 years ago so I can’t remember what the elite series gets you. In commercial you have MT which is medium trolley, t then GT which is a serious heavy duty gear drive unit. Big bucks. Cycles on rsidential are about 6 to 8 per hour while an mt is 14 or 16 per hour IIRC. There is a thermal breaker on the motor that will shut down if overheated. The MT is a robust opener with a good reliable history. Best value in my opinion.
